Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which will be provided upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.

Requirements for Vehicle Rental
- To rent a vehicle, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type, with extra fees applicable for drivers under 25. A full, valid driving licence for the appropriate vehicle category is required, held for the duration specified in the Rental Agreement. Identification and proof of your current address must be presented, along with valid payment details and a security deposit. Additional requirements outlined in the Rental Agreement must also be met.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be arranged via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Reigate office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment and security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
4. Car Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection in Reigate, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and requires your signature. Upon returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when collected, with allowances for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may result in additional charges. The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as it was provided; refueling charges will apply if it is returned with less fuel. If you expect to return the vehicle late, please inform us as soon as possible, as late returns may incur extra fees. You will be held responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or related charges that occur during your rental, plus an administrative fee.
Insurance and Responsibility
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. You can find full coverage details and excess amounts outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to limit your liability. Review these options thoroughly. You are liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless further coverage is purchased. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violations of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For specific information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for any unlawful activities or purposes. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or engaging in any dangerous driving practices. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs is forbidden. The vehicle should only be used for its intended purpose and within the specified passenger and weight limits. Additionally, driving beyond the agreed geographical boundaries without prior consent is not permitted.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Reigate is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits or data, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental amount paid in the previous 12 months. This does not affect our liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in this region.
